Chanoyu embodies the essence of Japanese culture.
Through serving matcha tea, we aim to share the spirit of 'Wa' (harmony) with many.
Our journey begins with a simple bowl of tea.

Traditional Japanese Cultural Experience in Kochi (Kochi)

On December 13th, the first day of New Year's preparations, we had the pleasure of welcoming Eigetsu, a design calligrapher from Kyoto, for a traditional Japanese cultural event.

Kintsugi Workshop for Beginners (Kochi)

We were honored to have guidance from the potter Mr. Akira Kosaka and his wife during our beginner's workshop on Kintsugi, the art of repairing broken pottery.

Tea Serving at the Kumejima Tsumugi Exhibition (�hKyorakutei�h, Nihonbashi-Muromach, Tokyo�j

Shuji Yamamoto, an ambassador for Kumejima Tsumugi and the organizer of the 'Kumejima Tsumugi Exhibition', passionately introduced the depth of traditional techniques to the visitors.

Antique-Silk Fukusa Workshop (Ecoru Togoshi, Shinagawa, Tokyo)

Architect Yumiko Nakajima fell in love with the world of vintage fabric when she discovered a piece at an antique market, leading her to start making tea utensils covers, fukusa, and other tea ceremony items, eventually prompting her to start practicing the tea ceremony itself.

Admiring the Handmade Tea Whisk Stand over a Bowl of Tea (Kochi)

We had a wonderfully practical, custom-made tea whisk stand crafted by a talented man.

Collaboration Tea Ceremony with Pottery Class (Shinagawa City Small and Medium Enterprise Center)

At this unique event, participants brought their handmade tea bowls from pottery class, beginning the session by savoring thick matcha tea in their own creations.

Tea Gathering in the Afan Woodland (Shinanomachi, Kamiminochi, Nagano)

On July 17th, the birthday of C.W. Nicol who passed away in the spring of 2020, we served tea to the members of the Afan Woodland Trust who gathered for a memorial event.

Tea Ceremony Experience Class (Kochi Chuo High School)

Members of the Shorinji Kempo Club at Kochi Chuo High School participated in our tea ceremony experience.

Creating Tea Bowls from Bamboo

In preparation for our outdoor tea gathering in Afan's Woodland, we decided to embrace the spirit of the forest in a uniquely "Afan-style" tea ceremony, crafting our own tea bowls from bamboo.

Tea Scoop Carving Experience with Mr. Izumi Moriwaki

On June 25th and 26th, we invited architect Mr. Izumi Moriwaki from Sanda City, Hyogo, to guide us in creating our own tea scoops.

Serving Tea Matcha After the "Vibrant Centenarian Exercise" (Kochi)

Following the "Vibrant Centenarian Exercise", which is spreading nationwide from Kochi, we have been serving thin matcha tea to all participants.

Hanami and Outdoor Tea Ceremony (Kochi Athletic Recreation Park)

After indulging in a picnic lunch during Hanami, we served matcha tea.

Tea Ceremony Experience with Doll Festival (Kochi)

We served matcha tea at a gathering for the Doll's Festival in March. Everyone also had the opportunity to whisk tea and partake in it themselves.

Matcha in a Tearoom (Kochi)

In celebration of the commencement of activities of NPO Kissako Cha Know You, we enjoyed a bowl of matcha tea in a tearoom with our participating and supporting friends.

Serving Tea in Fukujusou Garden (Ohtoyocho, Nagaoka, Kochi)

In January 2022, the activities of NPO Kissako Cha Know You commenced with a matcha tea ceremony held in Fukujusou no Sato, Kochi.
