Serving Matcha After the "Vibrant Centenarian Exercise" (Kochi)

20250325

Every month, after the exercise session, we serve matcha tea.

On March 25, seven people participated.

A wellness exercise program for living to 100 and beyond, called the "Vibrant Centenarian Exercise," was developed by Kochi City in 2002 and is now spreading throughout Kochi Prefecture.

In 2010, Kochi Prefecture ranked 36th in the nation for women's healthy life expectancy, but by 2019, it had improved to 9th place.

The exercises have spread to cities and towns across the prefecture ahead of the rest of the country, and this is considered proof of their effectiveness.

In addition, the tea gathering after the exercise helps with hydration and vitamin intake, provides an opportunity for communication, and is believed to further contribute to extending healthy life expectancy.

By doing the exercises and drinking matcha, we hope to stretch our healthy life span even more.

Today's sweets were homemade domyoji-mochi with walnuts, colored with purple sweet potato powder.

The matcha served was "Seiso-no-Shiro" from Hoshinoen.
