Antique-Silk Fukusa Workshop

Architect Yumiko Nakajima fell in love with the world of vintage fabric when she discovered a piece at an antique market, leading her to start making tea utensils covers, fukusa, and other tea ceremony items, eventually prompting her to start practicing the tea ceremony itself. For this workshop, a wide variety of fabrics were prepared, and she even handmade a special ironing board for making fukusa.

In January 2022, the activities of NPO Kissako Cha Know You commenced with a matcha tea ceremony held in Fukujusou no Sato, Kochi. Fukujusou, known as the flower of happiness and longevity, adorned the surroundings with its golden petals.
