NPO Kissako Cha Know You
Tea Scoop Carving Experience with Mr. Izumi Moriwaki
We were delighted to hold the 3rd "Soot Bamboo Tea Scoop Carving Event" in Kochi.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr Moriwaki Izumi ,who again drove all the way from Sanda City despite the typhoon,he carryed a lot of materials and tools, and gave us great guidance.
We think everyone, including those who participated for the first time and those who attended for the second or third time, had a great time concentrating on making tea scoops.
A valuable experience of bending soot bamboo, carving a tea scoop with concentration, crafting a tea scoop holder, and writing the name you've conceived onto the bamboo holder. The day flew by in an instant.
After lunch, we enjoyed black bean yokan in green bamboo made by Mr. Moriwaki and sipping thin tea.
We were happy to receive participants' comments such as
"I'm looking forward to using the tea scoop I made myself!"
"My interest in tea ceremony has grown, and I'm looking forward to my lessons."
"My eyes on tea scoops have completely changed."
