Kokoro Filling Incense and Tea Ceremony (Ohta, Tokyo)
How elegant the world of incense is!
On July 29th, under the bright summer sun, we held the "Kokoro Filling Incense and Tea Ceremony" led by an incense instructor. The morning session featured "Shirakawa Ko," and the afternoon session showcased "Churaumi Ko," each with its distinct theme.
Participants were captivated by the instructor's eloquent Japanese, thrilled to guess the scents, and impressed by the instructor's skillful brushwork.
"The incense is filled."
Those who correctly identified the fragrances proceeded to the tea room together with the other participants, where they delighted in discussions about incense and tea. The event concluded with the joyful exclamation, "I had a lot of fun!”
The sweets served were "Semishigure" kuzu manju from Ikkoan.
