Tea Scoop Carving Experience with Mr. Izumi Moriwaki

Once again, we were able to receive the generous guidance of Ms. Izumi Moriwaki, who drove all the way from Sanda City to Kochi. The participants were very pleased, saying, "This was a precious experience and we have created a treasure!" It was a day dedicated to carving tea scoops and making bamboo cases, and each person also had the experience of rough bending of sooted bamboo. After lunch, we enjoyed a very delicious black bean yokan handmade by Ms. Moriwaki. The performance of taking the yokan out of the green bamboo was also a treat. We had a bowl of matcha, "Aonihakusai" from Fukujuen, served in a tea bowl by Mr. Hiroyuki Doi, from the Oda-yaki pottery.
